Welcome to the new academic year, the children have all settled well into their new classroom and our daily routines.
Class information
- PE: There is no need to provide PE kit for your child. However, they may wish to wear trainers and joggers on a Wednesday for our PE day.
- We shall be continuing to read daily in class and reading books are changed weekly for you and your child to read at home. Reading books will be changed on a Friday but please ensure reading books are in school daily. For your child to make good progress, please support your child with their reading by practising frequently.
- Outdoor Learning shall be a key feature for many of our learning activities so please provide your child with a pair of wellies that can be left in school and ensure they wear a waterproof coat daily. Our outdoor afternoon will be on a Tuesday so your child may want to wear older clothes as they may get a little muddy!
- Home tasks will be set weekly on a Friday, we will continue to use class Dojo to post homework details, information, pictures and class updates. Parents can also communicate via the messages on class Dojo.
- As part of the ‘Public Health Wales Healthy and Sustainable Pre-School Scheme National Awards Criteria’ children are encouraged to bring in their own water bottle, labelled with their name and ideally with a sports cap, as they have access to water fountains throughout the day and can refill their bottles if needed.
- Please ensure jumpers and cardigans are clearly labelled to avoid them getting lost.
- Children are encouraged to bring in fruit from home for a snack at morning break. No sweets or snacks other than fruit are allowed. Mid-morning milk is provided for pupils in the Nursery and Infant Department.
- Equipment needed by the children during school will be provided by the school. Please do not send in toys, keyrings, notebooks, pencil cases etc to avoid your child becoming upset if items accidentally get lost or broken during the school day.
- On occasions we may ask for specific items to be sent in to support learning activities and this request will be sent via email or class Dojo.
- Please remember to follow us on the x account (formally twitter) @BryncethinPS#class 3.
If you have any questions at any time, please do not hesitate to phone the school office on 01656 815840, leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I can. Mrs Bailey is in class with us every day and Mrs Coombes will be in class every Monday afternoon.
Many thanks for your continued support,
Miss Stephens
