       Rights Respecting School

A Rights Respecting School is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected, protected and promoted. Children and adults learn about children’s rights by putting them into practice every day.

At present we are working on finding out more about these 10 rights :

Article 6 - You have the right to life and to grow up to be healthy.

Article 12 – You  have the right to say what you think should happen.

Article 13 – You have the right to information.

Article 16 – You have the right to privacy.

Article 19 – You should not be harmed and should be looked after and kept safe.

Article 24 – You have the right to good food and water, and to see a doctor if you are ill.

Article 28 – You have the right to learn and go to school.

Article 29 – You have the right to become the best that you can be.

Article 31 – You have the right to relax and play.

Article 36 – You have the right to be protected from doing things that could harm you.

At Bryncethin Primary School we believe that the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) should become a thread that runs throughout the whole school life, inspiring children and young people to become active local and global citizens.
